It's your turn to Ace

Can you believe that it's now already July??  Well at least we've been fortunate to have had some nice sunshine to make us feel like it's at least summer!!!

There are 2 key things that always make me know that it's summer.  The first of which has to be when everybody is glued to their TV watching Wimbledon, with our fridges filled with strawberries and cream.  There were a great few nail-biting moments during the big matches, don't you think?

You also know it's summer when you have a good wedding to look forward to!   Well this weekend was no exception, as Shareen and I had a great time at our  friends Gavin & Lynsay's wedding (congratulations again!!).

As always to keep you even more motivated and inspired (as I know that you  already are), this week I thought I'd get you to take a moment and ask yourself, "What shots am I going to take this July, so that it makes it the best summer that I've ever had???"

"You miss one hundred percent of the shos you never take."

Wayne Gretzky

Until next time ... have another amazing seven days!!

Kind regards

Osmaan

p.s. - We are getting excited about heading to Edinburgh on Saturday for our Intensive NLP Practitioner course and then meeting with some of our previous students at the end of the month, when they start their Master practitioner journey.  There are still a few places available on both courses, so if you've been thinking of joining us (for the first time or coming back for more), but haven't gotten around to it yet, then why not take your shot now?

Greetings from South Africa

Welcome to another fun-filled week ahead!!

Well after my message last week about seizing opportunities, it just so happened that shortly after that, I was presented with a great and unexpected one!!!  I was invited to travel out to South Africa to deliver our Hypnosis Practitioner & Master Practitioner course - so of course I jumped at the chance.  I have just finished delivering the course yesterday and really had an amazing time working with some more fantastic students.  Before I head back home later tonight, I'm also taking the chance to experience some of Africa's widelife and culture by going on a little excursion!!

Last week wasn't all great news though, as like many people, I was saddened by the news of Michael Jackson passing away.  I was a huge fan of his  since I was a little boy and was so exited about his upcoming London concerts.  I can still even remember when my dad helped me climb up a massive tree so I could watch his concert in Glasgow back in 1992!!  Even though throughout his years, he had many good and not so good moments, his music was and will always be truly magic!

So for this week's dose of inspiration, I thought I'd share the opening few lines from one of my favourite Michael Jackson songs - 'Man in a Mirror'.

"I'm going to make a change,

for once in my life

It's going to feel real good

Gonna make a difference,

Gonna make it right ..."

Michael Jackson - 'Man in a Mirror'

Why not also have a think about what positive changes and differences you can make in the different areas of your life this week.

As always - have an amazing week.

Kind regards

Opportunity v.s. Work
Written by Osmaan Sharif

Welcome to Monday,

The start of the week is upon us again and what a great week it is looking to be already.

As always, our weekly dose of inspiration is here to help you kick start the week ahead and get focused upon achieving the results that you are looking for.

For this week, it's all about spotting and taking opportunities.  These can be anything - from big to small - that can lead you directly towards your goals or help you get there through a journey of building upon your experience and skills.

"Opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

Thomas A. Edison

So look out for those hidden opportunities this week and see them for the real potential they could have for you.

Have another fantastic week!!

Kind regards

The power of an apostrophe

Welcome to Monday,

I hope you had another fantastic weekend and are enjoying your Monday so far.

For this week's dose of inspiration, I thought I'd share with you a great quote, which demonstrates the importance of seeing past any obstacles you may face in any area of your life.

"There is just a tiny ' and a little space between impossible and i'm possible."

Annon

So ask yourself, what have you thought was impossible that actually could be very possible for you to do - by thinking and doing things a little differently?

Have another amazing week!!!

Kind regards

Overcoming your hurdles

Welcome to another fantastic week,

Here we are again on Monday.  I'm sure you had a fantastic weekend and are now already back into the swing of things for the week ahead.

I had a fun and productive weekend - celebrating my Mum's birthday; painting & decorating our new home and also eagerly watched the final of the Apprentice last night!!!

I also managed to attend an amazing and thought-provoking workshop yesterday by Dr David Hamilton.  I've always believed and discuss both during our training courses and coaching sessions, how both our Mind & Body are strongly connnected and have an impact on our overall results!!  Well Dr David Hamilton shared with us lots of recent and scientific evidence that proves the existence of this fascinating relationship!!

I am currently busy planning and implementing some new & ambitious projects within my business - which I'm looking forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks. However, when setting them as goals, it make me think about two key things that really make the difference in achieving success in whatever we set our mind to do - Patience & Perseverance!!!

"Patience & Perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish."

John Quincy

I think there are many well-known people out there, who I'm sure we will both agree have achieved elements of great success in their life.  However, it's sometimes easy to forget or not even consider the journey they would have taken to get to their goals.

There are countless examples I can share with you ... however here are just a few:

  • The Beatles back in 1962 were rejected by Decca Records!!
  • Beyonce's first group Girls' Tyme lost on American's Star Search, as did Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
  • Luther Vandross lost the Apollo Theatre's famed Ameatur Night many times before finally winning & then becoming one of the biggest stars of his generation.
  • Jeniffer Hudson, didn't win American Idol, however went onto winning a Grammy, an Oscar and selling millions of records.
  • Even Sponge Bob Square Pants was rejected under various names and costumes over many years before becoming a Nickelodeon Star!!!

I am sure that there would have been times when all of the above would have been disappointed or wanted to give us ..... however the key was they didn't - they had patience and perseverance!!!

So this week, what are you going to do to overcome some of your obstacles towards your goals?

Have another amazing week !!

Kind regards

How big is your bite?

Welcome to June,

Can you believe that May has gone and we are now nearly half way through 2009 already?  Well with the lovely sunshine we had over the weekend, let us hope that our summer is now here to stay for a good while!!

We had a fantastic weekend working with our students during their Hypnosis Practitioner course and the fun hasn't stopped, as today we are delivering our new NLP Coaching & Time Line Therapy(TM) Practitioner course down in London too.

One of the key things that we will be focusing on during the course today will be about continually coaching yourself towards achieving all your goals and aspirations.

With that in mind, how about you also take some time now to think about one of your biggest goals that you have set yourself?

That's right, I'm sure it has given you a little burst of energy even just by thinking about it.  I know that at times it can seem like our biggest goals can appear to be bigger than us - however I think that this week's quote illustrates the power of taking action - no matter how small they are!!!

"If you think you're too small to make an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito."

Dame Anita Roddick

Go on - take a bite and have another fantastic week!

Kind regards

How good are you at swimming?

Happy Bank Holiday Monday,

I'm sure that you've had a great weekend - whether it was for only 2 days or if you were very lucky and you had the extra long weekend!!

I'm excited to be heading back down to London this weekend to deliver our 2 day Hypnosis Practitioner and NLP Coaching & Time Line Therapy(TM) training courses.  Then my suitcase will be quickly unpacked and packed again, as I head to Manchester for our next 7 day NLP Practitioner course.  We still have a few places available on these courses, so if you are interested in joining us, then get in touch with us to book your place.

Did you have fun last week listening to only yourself and not letting other people's limitations hold you back?  I bet you that it felt so much more empowering for you, didn't it?

Well this week is again all about you taking even more control of your actions and therefore your results!!  How many times have you sat back and waited for something to happen to you?  Well how about from this day forward, you take the bull by the horns and go after what you want to achieve?  I know that sometimes it can seem really scary, however ask yourself these following questions:

  • What would happen if I did it?

  • What would happen if I didnt do it?

  • What won't happen if I did it?

  • What won't happen if I didn't do it?

Did that hurt your mind a little? - don't worry as it is designed to do just that, whilst also hopefully allowing you to see things from a different perspective.

Think about it for a moment, how many missed opportunities have you had in the past, when you waited for 'it' to come to you and do you really want to miss out on any more?

"If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it!"

Jonathan Winters

If you don't want to miss out, then you know what you have to do, don't you?  That's right, take some action - even if it's a tiny little step or a massive leap towards your goal, and action is a step in the right direction.

Have another fantastic week.

Kind regards

Running towards your goals!!
Written by Osmaan Sharif
Monday, 18 May 2009 00:00

Happy Monday to you,

It's that special time again for you to take a minute to stop and set yourself up for another fantastic week ahead!!!

So let me ask you, have you ever had a new idea or a goal to start doing something that is a bit different and then tell others about it?  What have you often heard back from them?  If it's positive support then fantastic - keep talking to those people :)  If on the other hand, they have started saying things like, "What are you thinking, you seriously can't do that!!"; "the time is not right for you to do that!"; "do you not think it would be too risky!" or "it's impossible to do that!" ...... - tell me what can happened to your self-belief and motivation to still go out and do it?

From my experience in coaching and training, I come across this a lot and what I often hear is that people then start to believe and accept these limitiations from others as being real!!!  The great thing for our clients' and students' is that we can soon get rid of these limitations using NLP Coaching techniques ... however just think about how disempowering it would be if you were to hold on to them for life!!

Well this week, I want to shine the light back on an inspirational sportsman, Sir Roger Bannister, who 55 years ago this month really didn't let those who thought they knew best affect his aspiratations.  As you may know, before the 6th May 1954, it was thought that it was impossible for a human-being to run a mile in under 4 minutes.  However, that was until Roger ran it in 3 minutes and 5.94 seconds!!  What's even more, following Roger breaking that 'impossible' record, 46 days later so did his rival!!!

"Doctors and scientists said that breaking the 4 minute mile was impossible, that one would die in the attempt.

Thus when I got up from the track after collapsing at the finish line, I thought I was dead."

Sir Roger Bannister

Imagine if you had a goal to run as fast as you possibly could, whilst also holding the belief that it was impossible to get it under the 4 minute mark - how likely would you be to set yourself a goal for under 4 minutes and then actually achieve it?!?!

So when was the last time you sold yourself short by listening to somebody else's limitations?  The ball is in your court this week (and every other week too), so ask yourself what is one things that you really want to do that is a bit different from your norm and that will help you achieve an ambition or goal?  This can be in any area of your life : personal; work/business; sports; education; health; relationships .....

Have a fantastic week breaking through your own personal '4 minute mile'.

Kind regards

Osmaan
