Well I am sure that you are just as excited about 2009 being here, as I am!!! To wrap up the lovely holiday period, I went to see the new Jim Carrey film, 'Yes Man' and what a positive film it was. As I was sitting laughing away in the cinema with my family, it again reinforced to me the importance of being totally positive and open to new experiences in all areas of our life - whether it be for personal well-being; relationships; business success; wealth; education or sports.
As I mention to all our students and clients when setting goals, one of the key things that help make our goals come alive is to focus upon the end result, rather on all the small tiny steps that we need to take. In this way, we then leave ourselves open to many different routes and opportunities that are presented to us along the way, in order to reach our 'destination'.
However, think about it, what is one of the first words we learn as we start growing up as children? That's right - 'NO'.
If we automatically say 'No' (as many people do as a habit), to new ideas and opportunities, then we can be adding some road blocks and obstacles along our journey towards achieving our goals.
So I will leave you with a postive idea to adopt.

Come on let's have some fun this week!!! Ask yourself, what is at least one thing that you would normally say NO to straight away, which instead you are now going to say YES to this week??? Earlier this week, I sent out the same quote to a number of previous students, clients and those who receive our Weekly Dose of Inspiration e-mail. I asked them to help us share the magic of inspiration by sending through a few of the things that they are going to say YES to this week, instead of their normal NO!!! Here is what some of them have been saying YES to this week: "This week I promise to use at least one of my smile cards."
"I was invited out Monday evening to meet a group of people who are very passionate about their 'Green' politics, I generally shy away from any politically motivated meetings as I find them uncomfortable. However, I went along, and met two people who were very interesting. One who directed me to an article that will be of use to me in my work, and the other who can help me begin to become involved in voluntary work with young people. This particular scheme combines two of my passions............young people and motor bikes!!"
"I received an email from the London College of Spirituality, offering volunteer positions that will soon develop into paid work. One of the available positions is that of Radio Presenter............something I've always fancied doing and have even been 'imagining' developing a scheme/project for schools and colleges, encouraging students to report 'good news', to celebrate their achievements etc as there is so much negative press regarding our teenagers and young adults. Sooo.........I've applied for the position............(lack of experience would have put me off in the past). Wish me luck............I really want it!! The experience will be so valuable to me."
"I'm going to say YES to anything my wife wants me to do this week!!!"
"I'm going to actually go to the gym instead of thinking of going and then saying 'no' when it comes down to it!"
"I said YES to my friends to go out on a 'school night' !!"
"YES to a nice pizza - I deserve it!!!"
Have a fantastic week saying YES and doing new things!! All the best Osmaan
